BMO Wrap the Good celebrates and showcases underrepresented businesses from across North America who often depend more on making holiday sales. That’s why, for the last four years, we’ve tapped into holiday traditions to create visibility for these businesses and introduce them to new customers.

This year, we’re bringing back our holiday gift guide, refreshed with hundreds of ideas for gifts that do good. Here’s what past participating business owners have had to say:

What is an “underrepresented business”?

Wrap the Good is part of BMO’s Zero Barriers to Inclusion multi-year strategy focused on providing access to opportunities and enabling growth.

Wrap the Good puts a spotlight on businesses owned by women, people of color, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, and members of groups traditionally and/or systematically excluded from opportunities for support, which is an important step to honouring BMO’s Purpose-driven commitment.

This year, we’re letting you peek inside any gift and still make the nice list – with an AR experience that allows you to use your phone to unwrap every gift you see. By unwrapping gifts, you’ll reveal promo codes from underrepresented businesses that await inside and can be put toward your holiday shopping.

Holiday songs with a supportive twist.

In 2023, we sang our support for underrepresented businesses by rewriting the lyrics to classic holiday songs. Each song featured a different business and details about their products. Hear, share and sing along to our album of ‘Business Carols’ on Spotify.

Tiny Catalogue. Huge Impact.

Because not enough presents from underrepresented businesses end up under the tree, we hung their gift ideas on it. In 2022, we introduced ‘The Shoppable Ornament’, a scannable catalogue with the ability to turn any tree into a new way to shop and support.

Wrapping Paper: the original holiday hack

Millions of rolls of wrapping paper are used every holiday season. In 2021, we decided it was time for wrapping paper to be used for more than concealing gifts. So, we designed a new kind of wrapping paper that, when scanned, helps shoppers discover hundreds of gift ideas from underrepresented businesses.
